In order to improve durability, Falken utilized an outer apex sidewall that acts a secondary bead in the inner casing of the tire. The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is also equipped with a unique heat diffuser in the lower sidewall. Since this tire is a hybrid between an all-terrain and highway-terrain tire, it should have the capability to effectively dissipate heat on those long and high-speed drives. Dry

It really doesn’t matter if you’re travelling over tarmac, loose gravel, dry mud, or sand. The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W offers excellent grip on dry roads. It gives the vehicle a feeling that it can conquer rougher or harsher terrain. On smooth roads the tires were a revelation in the dry. Even as I travelled at higher than average speeds, the tires never skipped a beat. I am surprised how the tires were able to offer more grip over a set of all-season rubber, but this is the Falken difference.

Wet

Again, I am surprised at the wet weather capabilities of the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. The large and aggressive tread blocks are sure to offer grip over thick mud or treacherous river crossings, but the surprising part is how the tires felt on a wet patch of smooth highway. The progress is smooth and steady with no hint of hydroplaning. The brakes also felt strong as the tires obliged to my hard braking maneuvers. Is it possible the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is better in the wet than on dry? I find this hard to believe. But based on my test drives and reviews, it seems Falken has achieved the unimaginable.

Snow

Here’s another good things about the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W: it is officially recognized by the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association and is blessed with the 3PMSF symbol. What this means is superior performance in extreme snow. That fact alone is enough to discern how the tires behaved on snowy and icy roads. Driving over snow felt normal with no loss of traction. The braking felt strong and consistent. Deeper snow was a bit of challenge, but the tires handled everything with unmistakable poise. Comfort

The comfort levels of the tire will depend on the NVH characteristics of your vehicle. I tried these tires on a raised Suzuki Vitara and the ride is not as horrible as expected, and that’s when traversing over rough patches of off-road trails. On the highway the tires were also marginally comfortable, if not a bit too firm to my liking. But when I tested the tires on a Ford F-150, the comfort levels were significantly raised to a higher level. Dare I say this is one of the most refined all-terrain tires in the market? It definitely comes close.

Off-Road

All-terrain tires are in their element over rough roads. The same holds true for the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. I have no problems on how the tires behaved on smooth roads, but I felt more confident as I was driving over loose gravel peppered with dry sand on dirt roads. The tires also felt assuring when driving over snow. But for extreme off-roading over knee-deep mud, you’ll need a more rugged set of mud tires.

Handling and Noise

I wouldn’t expect sharper handling or aggressive cornering from a set of all-terrain tires. But the noise levels are simply divine. All-terrain and mud tires are known for being buzzy on the highway, and it’s a trade-off you should accept. But with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, all my expectations were shattered. The tires were not droning or were as noisy as I was expecting as I sped on a smooth highway, and that’s a good thing to have in a set of all-terrain rubber. You will only hear road noise as you approach the speed limit. But again, the noise levels will also depend on the NVH tuning in your ride.
